The Origin Story

From a yellow
Walkman
to a Neon Haven.

At just 6 years old, owner Reuben Vermoet pressed record on his yellow Sony Walkman Sport — Bruce Springsteen on one side, Michael Jackson on the other. That first mixtape sparked a lifelong love for analog sound that defines our space today.

Born as a mobile bar providing free coffee to healthcare workers during the pandemic winters, Kasette found its permanent home in a former flower shop. We actively chose to go against the grain of modern, sterile minimalism.

Here, you'll find Blade Runner aesthetics, wavy synth bass vibes, and an inclusive atmosphere. It's a place to connect — fueled by exceptional European beans, live vinyl sessions, and the undeniable charm of our courtyard chickens.

Reuben's signature NY-style cheesecake is legendary. It's so good, he actually has it tattooed on his arm. Available exclusively on weekends.

Saturday DJ Sets

Most Saturdays feature a DJ playing a live vinyl set right in the café. You can always apply in the shop if you are interested in playing yourself!

Courtyard Chickens

In the backyard, you can find our three chickens: Lil' Gus, Megatron and Optimus Prime! Ask the staff for a fresh soft boiled egg straight out of the garden.
